West Paris sits on Route 26 southeast of Bethel, beyond Greenwood and Woodstock. Route 26 carries you back through Bryant Pond and Locke Mills to Bethel, and New Mill is west of the village on US Route 2.
About West Paris
West Paris was set off from Paris and incorporated in 1957, and it includes North Paris. In the 19th century it was a center of Finnish immigrant settlement.
The Arthur L. Mann Memorial Library, a castle-like fieldstone building from 1926, has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1989. Snow Falls Gorge, on the Little Androscoggin River, is at a rest area on Route 26.
