Medical cannabis near Greenwood, Maine

Greenwood lies southeast of Bethel on Route 26. From Locke Mills, its largest village, Route 26 runs up to Bethel, and New Mill is west of the village on US Route 2.

About Greenwood

Greenwood was incorporated in 1816 and named for the surveyor Alexander Greenwood, after the name Russia was turned down. Locke Mills, on Route 26 in the north of town, became the center of town government; other villages include Greenwood City, at the outlet of Hicks Pond, and Greenwood Center.

The town's ponds include Twitchell, South, Round and North ponds, and it shares Lake Christopher, also called Bryant Pond, with Woodstock.
