Disclaimers

Last updated: April 25, 2026

Please read these disclaimers carefully before using this website or purchasing any product from New Mill Medical Cannabis. By accessing our site you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the notices below.

1. Age Restriction & Intended Audience

This website and its contents are intended only for adults 21 years of age or older, and for qualifying patients and designated caregivers registered under Maine’s Medical Use of Cannabis Program. By accessing this site, you represent that you meet these requirements. If you do not, please leave the site.

This site is intended for viewing within the State of Maine. Cannabis laws vary by jurisdiction, and the products and services described here may be unlawful outside of Maine.

2. FDA Disclaimer (Federal)

The statements made on this website regarding cannabis, cannabinoids, and related products have not been evaluated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The products sold by New Mill Medical Cannabis are not approved by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Where any product description, testimonial, or third-party statement on this site references potential effects or benefits, the following disclaimer applies:

“This statement has not been evaluated by the United States Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”

Cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act. Nothing on this website constitutes a recommendation to violate federal law.

3. Maine-Specific Notices

New Mill Medical Cannabis operates under the State of Maine’s Medical Use of Cannabis Program, administered by the Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) within the Department of Administrative and Financial Services. Our operations are governed by 22 M.R.S. ch. 558-C (Maine Medical Use of Cannabis Act) and 18-691 CMR ch. 2 (Maine Medical Use of Cannabis Program Rule).

Cannabis and cannabis products sold by New Mill have not been analyzed or approved by the FDA. There is limited information on the side effects of using these products, and there may be associated health risks. Cannabis products should be kept away from children and pets. If a product is consumed by a child or pet, contact the Northern New England Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Possession of cannabis outside the State of Maine, or transportation of cannabis across state lines, is a violation of state and federal law.

4. Not Medical Advice — Consult a Healthcare Professional

The information on this website — including product descriptions, blog posts, strain information, dosing guidance, and any educational material — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare provider.

You should consult a licensed healthcare professional before using cannabis or any cannabis-derived product, particularly if you:

  • Have a pre-existing medical condition (including cardiovascular disease, liver or kidney disease, mental health conditions, or a history of substance use disorder);
  • Are taking prescription or over-the-counter medications, as cannabis may interact with them;
  • Are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding (the U.S. Surgeon General has advised against cannabis use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding);
  • Are under 25 years of age, as cannabis use may affect adolescent and young-adult brain development; or
  • Have a personal or family history of psychosis or other serious mental illness.

Only a Maine-licensed medical provider can issue the written certification required to participate in the Maine Medical Use of Cannabis Program. New Mill staff are not medical professionals and cannot provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or prescriptions.

5. Safety, Intoxication & Impairment

Cannabis is an intoxicating substance. Use of cannabis and cannabis products can impair concentration, coordination, reaction time, judgment, and short-term memory. Effects may be delayed — particularly with edible products — and may last for several hours.

For your safety and the safety of others:

  • Do not drive a motor vehicle, boat, aircraft, or operate heavy machinery while using cannabis or while impaired by cannabis. Operating under the influence is illegal in Maine and is enforced under 29-A M.R.S. § 2411.
  • Do not perform safety-sensitive work, including childcare, while impaired.
  • Start low and go slow. With edibles, onset can take 30 minutes to 2 hours or longer; wait before consuming additional doses.
  • Do not mix cannabis with alcohol, prescription medications, or other intoxicants without consulting a healthcare provider.
  • Store all products in their original child-resistant packaging, in a secure location out of reach of children, pets, and unauthorized adults.

Overconsumption can cause anxiety, panic, nausea, vomiting, rapid heart rate, and other adverse effects. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

6. Employment & Drug Testing

Cannabis use — including legal medical use — may be detected by workplace drug tests. While Maine law (26 M.R.S. § 2430-C) provides certain protections for registered medical cannabis patients, those protections are not absolute. Federal employees, federal contractors, commercial drivers regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and workers in certain safety-sensitive positions may still be subject to discipline or termination for a positive test. Consult your employer’s policies and a qualified attorney for guidance on your specific situation.

7. Product Variability & Individual Results

Individual responses to cannabis vary significantly based on body chemistry, tolerance, dosage, method of consumption, and the specific product used. Any testimonials, reviews, or anecdotal reports presented on this site reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee of any particular outcome.
